All bacteria have a spherical shape or slightly elongated, so they are called cocci (grain, ball). They are unable to produce spores and to move, all because they do not have flagella and setae. They live almost everywhere, in soil, on foods and in air. If the cells fall within a favorable environment, they begin to multiply. The dividing process is not complicated, there is a division into two cells (mitosis). After the process of dividing the new cells can remain in a free state and can bind and unite in the colony.
